Jim Storc, MPAS, PA-C, RT(T) started his career as a licensed Radiation Therapist and provided care to a diverse group of Oncology patients including patients with brain tumors. He subsequently graduated as a Physician Assistant.

Jim built enormous experience as a Physician Assistant in both Radiation and Medical Oncology in a large private practice. He worked closely with multiple subspecialties and naturally gravitated to Neurosurgery.

He subsequently subspecialized in Neurosurgery and joined a large private practice that included two outpatient offices and five local hospitals. He was an integral part of patient care including daily hospital rounds, consults, assisting in a wide array of neurosurgical procedures, and he was responsible for all peri-operative care. He saw patients in the office independently and led quality initiatives in this setting. Jim was quickly recognized as a leader among his peers and was in charge of training and onboarding the new Advanced Practice Providers as the practice expanded. In this capacity he was exposed, and was in charge of managing multiple neurosurgical emergencies including patients with stroke and brain aneurysms.

After 15 years of Neurosurgery experience, Jim was recruited to the Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island to join the Neurointerventional team. He quickly became a key member of the team. His superior technical abilities allowed him to become proficient in Neurovascular procedures. He is
able to single handedly manage critically ill patients, see new consults and perform procedures in one of the busiest stroke services on Long Island.  He is leading the inpatient rounding and consult service and he is in charge of our national carotid intervention registry.
