Dr. Sundeep Mangla is a Board Certified physician and CAST certified in Neuroendovascular Surgery. He specializes in the fields of Interventional Neuroradiology and Endovascular Neurosurgery, focusing on advanced diagnosis and treatment of complex cerebrovascular diseases.
 
Dr. Mangla completed an accelerated 6-year B.S./M.D. and residency training at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He went on to pursue a fellowship at the University of Southern California, and eventually Endovascular Neurosurgery fellowships at the Yale University School of Medicine and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
 
Dr. Mangla served as an Assistant Professor in Interventional Neuroradiology at Columbia and Cornell University until he was recruited as the Director and Associate Professor of Interventional Neuroradiology and Neurosurgery at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, where he further developed his clinical expertise, research, and teaching experiences, while also leading the development of a Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center at Lincoln Medical Center in The Bronx. Dr. Mangla was then recruited to develop Cerebrovascular and Stroke Programs at NYU Long Island and Mount Sinai SouthNassau Hospitals. Over the last 25 years, Dr. Mangla has performed thousands of Neurovascular Interventions throughout NYC and Long Island, having pioneered Neuroradiology and Stroke Intervention Programs in Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Long Island. He performed many Firsts in the Region (Intracranial Stenting, Brain Aneurysm and AVM Therapies).

Dr. Sundeep Mangla is an Accomplished Academician and has an extensive record of peer-reviewed publications, national and international presentations of original basic science and clinical research, clinical trial participation, and novel biomedical diagnostic and therapeutic tool development and testing for management of cerebrovascular disease patients.  He is currently a Visiting Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology where he Mentors Graduate Students on developing the Next Generation of Medical Device Innovations focusing on Robotics, AI, and Novel Strategies for Neurovascular Intervention.
 
He is actively developing new Diagnostic and Therapeutic Clinical Strategies to care for patients experiencing Ischemic and Hemorrhagic stroke, Ophthalmologic and ENT emergencies, and continues to be a Leader in his field, including recognition by his peers as a Castle Connolly “Top Doctor: New York Metro Area” in 2019-2024; New York Magazine: Top Doctors in 2020-2024; Newsday: Top Doctors in Long Island 2019-2023.

Dr. Mangla was recruited to The Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island to assist with the creation of a Comprehensive Stroke Center at Saint Francis Hospital. He will be part of the core clinical team that will bring the expertise of The Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island to Nassau County. He will lead several clinical trials and will be in charge of multiple quality initiatives across the system.
