Elizabeth Hogan, MSN, AGNP-BC

Picture
Elizabeth Hogan, MSN, AGNP-BC graduated from Stony Brook University in Smithtown, NY with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She developed extensive experience in the care of neurosurgical patients, while working in the Surgical ICU at Stony Brook University Medical Center. During that time, she became proficient in managing the sickest neurosurgical patients. She quickly became the charge nurse and an educational resource for her peers.

After years of experience, Elizabeth returned to school for her masters at Stony Brook University. She graduated as an advanced practice provider in acute care, with a Masters in Science in Nursing.  She subsequently practiced in South Shore Neurologic Associates, one of the largest neurology practices on Long Island, as an advanced practice provider in neurosciences. She has been present since the inception of our program, initially as a Neuro-critical care advanced practice provider and currently as a Neurovascular advanced practice provider. As a Neuro-critical care advanced practice provider she was instrumental in establishing the first neuro-ICU in Suffolk county. She spearheaded educational and quality initiatives and lead the management of very challenging patients
including cerebral aneurysm ruptures and acute ischemic stroke.

She currently oversees the advanced practice provider service that offers complex clinical care for our patients. She is in charge of our center's prospective neurovascular registry and oversees the clinical trials executed in our facility. Together with Dr. Bekelis she is the co-organizer of the annual "Advances in Comprehensive Stroke Care Conference".

Elizabeth is one of the most experienced and talented advanced practice providers in the area of endovascular neurosurgery nationally. She was recruited in order to help establish the Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island and achieve Comprehensive Stroke Center certification by TJC. She has been instrumental in this unique endeavor.
